PHOENIX ART CENTER
PHOENIX ART CENTER Introduction
Located on Phoenix Island in Jinchengwan Park by the shore of Taihu Lake in Wuxi, Phoenix Art Center is a dedicated cultural space for the study, exhibition, and promotion of oil painting. The museum’s name was personally inscribed by renowned artist Jin Shangyi. With an exhibition area of approximately 1,500 square meters, the museum can present more than 100 artworks at one time.
Guided by an academic spirit of independence, openness, and inclusiveness, Phoenix Art Center is committed to becoming an internationally respected art institution. Drawing on the strengths and flexibility of a privately founded museum, it provides a professional platform for outstanding artists from China and abroad to exhibit, exchange ideas, and engage in artistic dialogue, while supporting the continued development of Chinese contemporary oil painting.
Since its establishment in June 2012, Phoenix Art Center has presented more than 80 high-quality exhibitions for audiences in the Jiangnan region, integrating academic value, aesthetic experience, and collection significance. Notable exhibitions include The 5th Anniversary Documentary Exhibition, All Living Beings, The Character of Color, Poetic Flowers, Mind · Representation, Echoes of Time, Soul of Mountains and Rivers, Homeland, The Power of Tranquility, Poetic Art, and The Great River, An Immortal Poem, many of which have received wide recognition from the art community.
Upholding the belief that art should serve the public, the museum actively promotes art education and public engagement. It regularly organizes academic seminars, art salons, advanced oil painting workshops, artist field trips, and cultural exchange activities with artists and art institutions both in China and overseas.
As an important coordinate of oil painting art by the shore of Taihu Lake, Phoenix Art Center continues to extend its influence beyond Wuxi to a national audience. Looking ahead, the museum will carry forward its vitality, cultural vision, and academic strength, becoming a distinctive presence in the ongoing development of contemporary Chinese art and culture.
